Nintendo News Conference Reveals Upcoming 3DS Titles


In a news conference in Tokyo early yesterday, Nintendo announced several new titles and updates for the Nintendo 3DS. The conference, being held just before the annual Tokyo Game Show, revealed release dates for upcoming 3DS games meant to boost the fledgling platform and unveiled a new 3DS color meant to cater towards the female demographic. The new “Misty Pink” 3DS releases on October 20th in Japan, there is no word on whether this new color will make it to other markets.

Nintendo also intends to make software updates to the 3DS including the ability to record 3D movies, changes to Street Pass Mii Plaza, and changes to the eShop (neither changes of which were detailed in the conference).

Also, the much speculated on, extra slide pad add-on for the 3DS was revealed. The “3DS Expansion Slide Pad”, priced at ¥1500 ($19) will be supported by several upcoming games and releases on December 10 in Japan. It will also require a single AAA battery to function. [via Kotaku]

  • Slime Mori Mori Dragon Quest 3 (2012)
  • Kid Icarus (delayed until first half of 2012)
