CGI Yoda Replaces Puppet Yoda in Upcoming Star Wars Blu-ray Release

Die-hard Star Wars fans may be in a bit of a frenzy after hearing the latest Star Wars Blu-ray news: Lucas has gone ahead and replaced the original puppet Yoda with a more modern CGI Yoda similar to what we see in the two most recent Star Wars films (Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith). We’ve known for quite some time now that the upcoming Star Wars Blu-ray re-release would include many CGI enhancements of the films, but did we know they would go as far as replacing one of the most memorable characters’ portrayals with CGI?

Take a look at two videos which show the “before” — Yoda as a puppet — and the “after” — Yoda in CGI. Which do you prefer?

Are you the nostalgic type who prefers originals to be left alone, or do you like the modernization of old favorites?
