First Look at “Monsters University”‘s Mike and Sully From Pixar’s D23 Panel

1

Pixar brought out the big guns during their panel at Disney’s D23 Expo, discussing upcoming titles like Brave and announcing two new titles (which we covered last week). One of their most anticipated revelations was the character designs for Mike and Sully from Monsters University. As you may (or may not) know, Monsters University is another addition to the Monsters Inc. franchise — however, Monsters University is a prequel, not a sequel. Fortunately movie/news blog Joblo was able to grab a few photos of the pair!

Both Mike and Sully are noticeably younger in their uni years. Sully is a slimmed down version of his older self, while Mike sports a rather awkward mouth retainer.

Earlier this year we reported the film’s official synopsis:

“Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn’t stand each other. Monsters University unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends.”

Monsters University is set to release in June 2013.
