Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Gets An Official Release Date!

Chances are, if you currently own a Wii, there is probably a layer of dust starting to form on it because, let’s be honest, there have not been any games really worth playing lately.  However, you may want to take seat for this one; Nintendo has given us an official release date for their latest smash hit The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

The release window originally planned for Skyward Sword was during the “fourth quarter” of this year, so many assumed it would hit shelves in December.  Luckily for gamers everwhere, Christmas is coming early this year! The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will be available to purchase on November 20th.

Skyward Sword is the first Zelda game that wil make us of the Wii’s Motion Plus controller, allowing fans of the amazing franchise to become much more involved in the game – by giving them complete control of all Link’s gadgets.  Players can perfectly control Link’s sword with pristine accuracy, guide a flying beetle-like object and of course, roll those bombs like bowling balls towards your enemies.  Let’s admit it, that is pretty awesome.

If that is not enough to get you super excited, then check this out.  Fans of the  Ocarina of Time will be delighted to know that Skyward Sword is actually a prequel to that legendary title. The events in Skyward Sword actually set up for the events that occur in Ocarina of Time.  That should be more than enough reason for any fan of the series to grab this game.

This November is going to be insane for gamers everywhere.  Titles such as, Skyrim, Modern Warfare 3, Super Mario 3D Land and now Skyward sword are sure to keep gamers busy for many months.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will launch exculsively for the Wii on November 20th. Mark your calendars!
