This was a wild week for Harry Potter fans, as Pottermore opened its digital gates for one million fans lucky enough to make it through their beta sign-up process. True to her nature, J K Rowling had no plan to simply hand the invites out for free; no, fans had to solve trivia puzzles, discover hidden Magic Quills, and make it to the Pottermore registration in time before that day’s allotted invites were handed out.
As we mentioned in our headline, all of the one million beta invites have been distributed to fans lucky enough to make it through the registration obstacle course. These fans will begin receiving official Pottermore invitations over the next several weeks which will allow them to officially begin participating in the Pottermore festivities.
From the official Pottermore Insider blog:
If you did register for early access, then congratulations! Please note that we will not be enabling early access to the site straight away. We will send successful early access registrants a Welcome email, letting them know when they will be able to access Pottermore. We won’t be able to let everyone into the Beta site at the same time, so please be patient with us. You may have to wait a few weeks for your Welcome email to arrive.
Fans who were not fortunate enough to make it into the beta won’t have to wait too much longer — Pottermore will officially open its doors to all fans, beta invites or not, in October.
Lytherus staff members were lucky enough to receive beta invites for Pottermore and will be sure to report all of the juicy details revealed once Pottermore’s beta officially launches. Stay tuned!
