Perhaps Law and Order is not quite within the Lytherus scope. Regardless, Christopher Meloni has been praised for his acting ability in SVU as well in a plethora of other tv shows and movies. Now he has been cast within the upcoming Zack Snyder Superman reboot.
The hiring of this actor, at this time, has just been announced as a general casting addition. What role he will actually play is being kept under tight wraps. Rumor has it, though, he might actually be the next Lex Luthor. When asked which role he would play, Meloni answered New York magazine’s Vulture blog: “I can’t tell you, or I’d have to kill you.” Aside from Lex Luthor, the possibility stands that Meloni could be playing General Wade Eiling or even Lois Lane’s father, General Sam Lane.
Meloni joins a cast already made up of Henry Cavill (The Tudors, Stardust), who is playing Clark Kent/Superman, Amy Adams (Enchanted) as Lois Lane, and Diane Lane (the Perfect Storm) who will play Martha Kent and Kevin Costner (Robin Hood is in a Superman movie, I love it) as Jonathan Kent.
Adding to the star stew of this movie, Russell Crowe is reportedly in final negotiations to play Superman’s real father from Krypton, Jor-El.
