Film Adaptation of Tekken Coming to Theaters in July


Tekken: Blood Vengeance is scheduled for a limited theater release (aka in “select theaters nationwide”) on July 26, 2011. An official list of movie theaters that can expect the film has not been released, but the chances are probably good for large cities and movie hubs around the country. The big screen rendition of the film will also be shown in digital 3D.

Otherwise, Tekken fans in smaller cities can rest easy that they won’t be bypassed. Namco Bandai has announced an upcoming Playstation 3 release titled Tekken Hybrid which will include the movie as well as a hi-def remake of the classic Tekken Tag Tournament game on a Bluray disc.

This is actually the third film adaptation of the Tekken video game franchise which is focused around the King of Iron Fist Tournament. The first adaptation was in an anime format. The second rendition was live-action and horribly crashed and burned.
