The first official scene from the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 was revealed during last night’s MTV Video Awards showing the infamous “forest scene” (spoilers ahead, movie fans) near the end of the book. It’s a fairly short scene — only 29 seconds long — yet highlights one of the most important pieces of all seven Harry Potter books: Harry’s desire to sacrifice himself to save his friends and all those in Voldemort’s way.
The scene shows Harry walking into the forest, instantly recognized by Hagrid (tied down), who shouts, “Harry? No!” Voldemort makes a very brief speech before shouting the iconic words, “Avada Kedavra!”, and an explosion of green light ends the scene.
What are your thoughts on the scene? Being one of the central scenes in the final book, do you feel that they revealed too much here?
