LucasArts Promises New ‘High Quality’ Star Wars Games

It has been awhile since LucasArts have given us a decent Star Wars game, luckily, this will change in the future. LucasArts showed off two awesome titles last year at E3, The Old Republic and Star Wars Kinect and they will surely make a return this time around.  Since there has been no talk about a new game in the works is it possible we may have a surprise Star Wars game announcement?  I surely hope so.

LucasArts President Paul Meegan stated in a recent interview:

“LucasArts is a company with tremendous potential. I think people look at it and wonder why it hasn’t done better in recent years… Lucasfilm has some of the most beloved and powerful brands in entertainment, we have a loyal community of fans, and talented people in every discipline. We’re surrounded by staggeringly bright and creative people at the top of their games. In recent years, LucasArts hasn’t always done a good job of making games. We should be making games that define our medium, that are competitive with the best of our industry, but we’re not. That has to change… Our priority is to create authentic, immersive, high quality Star Wars games.”

The Force Unleashed was an epic failure for LucasArts, so what could possibly be done to make up for that? Star Wars: The Old Republic is aimed to be a worthy competitor for World of Warcraft but outside of the MMO market, what do they have that can compete with games of all genres?  It is gonna be tough but definitely worth it.

Just stop giving us LEGO and Clone Wars games. Please.
