Torchwood: Miracle Day is the fourth series of Torchwood, the much-loved Doctor Who spin-off for older audiences, with a twist: the show’s core characters and location have moved over to the USA to continue preventing the world’s demise at the hands of alien threats.
Access Hollywood has released a full-length trailer for the upcoming season, set to premiere on Showtime. The new trailer has left quite a few fans puzzled, as the show has clearly taken a turn from what fans came to love with the first three seasons in the UK. It’s hard to judge a show by the trailer, so we’ll let you decide for yourself:
The trailer clearly re-introduces our old favorites — Captain Jack and Gwen — while also pulling together the new cast, which we recently reported on. Plenty of action scenes are strewn about, and we get a good hint at the paranormal.
Here’s what fans can expect from “Miracle Day”:
“The premise is a miracle happens in the world. One day, on Earth, no one dies. The next day, no one dies. The day after that, no one dies. The [people who are]dying, keep dying … but don’t actually die. The possibility of death ceases to exist. Which is great for some people. But it’s an instant overnight population boom. The earth relies on people dying … What is society going to do now? Some of the answers are beautiful and brave. Some of the reactions are terrifying.”
What are your thoughts on the trailer? Are you excited for the new season or just a bit leery?
