Skybound Entertainment and Z-Man Games are coming together to launch Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead Board Game, based on the wildly popular tv /comic book series. The board game should be ready for purchase late this summer – just about the time when Walking Dead fans are going to be tapping their toes and looking at their watches, waiting for season 2 of the tv series to freaking get here already. The price of the game should generally run about $40.00.
While not a whole lot is know about the actual gameplay set-up yet, we do knowt hat you will be able to play as some of the different characters: Rick, Shane, Andrea, and other favorites. Want to play but don’t have any friends? Don’t worry about it. The Walking Dead board game is made for anywhere between 1 and 6 players, making it a suitable pasttime for the lone zombie-lover. But its not just about dealing with the over-run population of flesh eating monsters. You will also have to try to keep the shreds of your own personal life and sanity in tact as you make your way through the game.
“It’s an absolute pleasure to play in the rich, incredible world that Robert Kirkman has created,” said Keith Tralins, game designer and president of MegaGigaOmniCorp, Inc. “Our goal was to give players the chance to feel like they had to survive in that world, with an unrelenting swarm of zombies at their heels. I believe we’ve achieved that goal.”
Robert Kirkman is just as excited about this idea: ”I’ve always loved board games, but never knew they could be this cool! We’ve done test plays of The Walking Dead board game at the office, and the game play scenarios ring true to what Rick and the other survivors face in the comic book. I couldn’t be more impressed with Z-Man Games.”
