The film was done in motion capture, done by Jackson’s “Weta Digital”. The film’s screenplay was written by famed Doctor Who writer Steven Moffat.

The movie, a first in a series, is a re-telling of the famous comics of the same name by Georges Rémi (Hergé), who published the comics from 1929 to 1976. The first film will tell the story of the title character Tintin, voiced by Jamie Bell, and his “first encounter with Captain Haddock (Andy Serkis) and the discovery of a clue to the treasure of his ancestor Sir Francis Haddock. They set out to find it with protection from a prison escapee who tried to get the treasure as well as Detectives Thompson and Thomson (Simon Pegg and Nick Frost).” The first film will combine three Tintin comics: The Crab with the Golden Claws, The Secret of the Unicorn and Red Rackham’s Treasure.
