Rumors surrounding the release of the latest addition to the Call of Duty franchise, Modern Warfare 3, have been flying for weeks, even prompting the game’s creators to finally acknowledge the game’s existence and to downplay many of the leaked rumors. However, IGN is now reporting that they have solid evidence pointing to the release date for Modern Warfare 3, this time coming from Australian retailers who have begun receiving promotional items for the game.
Pictures have surfaced showing promotional materials displaying a release date of November 8th, 2011. IGN is also citing independent sources that have confirmed the release date. Many of the largest gaming websites have jumped on the news, making it all the more likely that the leak holds merit. Activision will not comment on any rumors, release date included, until the game’s official unveiling at E3.
