Fifteen New “Hunger Games” Cast Additions, No Collins Cameo

It seems as if the cast announcements for the upcoming film adaptation of “Hunger Games” are never ending! Check out the extensive list of cast additions:

  • Paula Malcomson will play Mrs. Everdeen, mother of Katniss Everdeen
  • District 3 tribute boy will be played by Ian Nelson. District 3 tribute girl will be played by Kalia Prescott
  • District 4 tribute boy will be played by Ethan Jamieson. District 4 tribute girl will be played by Tara Macken
  • Elizabeth Banks will play Effie Trinket, escort to tributes from District 12
  • District 5 tribute boy will be played by Chris Mark. “Foxface”, or District 5’s female tribute, will be played by Jacqueline Emerson
  • District 6 tribute boy will be played by Ashton Moio. District 6 tribute girl will be played by Kara Peterson
  • District 7 tribute boy will be played by Sam Ly. District 7 tribute girl will be played by Leigha Hancock
  • District 8 tribute boy will be played by Samuel Tan. District 8 tribute girl will be played by Mackenzie Lintz
  • Wes Bentley will play Seneca Crane, Head Gamemaker of the Hunger Games

In related news, Suzanne Collins, author of The Hunger Games, recently spoke with USA Today, revealing that she has chosen not to make a cameo in the film adaptation of her first book:

I wrote the treatment and original screenplay. Then screenwriter Billy Ray (State of Play) did a pass (or rewrite). Then director Gary Ross (Seabiscuit) did a pass, then Gary and I did a pass together. I thought both guys were terrific.” Unlike Jeff Kinney, who has a non-speaking role in the latest Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie, Collins is staying off-camera. “It’s (set) in the future and to be in it would be alarming. I have no need to do a cameo.
