Mass Effect 3 delayed until 2012!

Sad news today for Mass Effect fans everywhere.  BioWare just confirmed that a few additional months of development time on Mass Effect 3 are needed.  The result of this is the game will be delayed until early of 2012.

With bad news, comes good news.  On the Mass Effect 3 Facebook page we were given two new screen shots for the upcoming blockbuster hit and BioWare announced “Mass Effect 3 will be released in the first three months of 2012. The development team is laser focused on making sure Mass Effect 3 is the biggest, boldest and best game in the series, ensuring that it exceeds everyone’s expectations.”

Mass Effect 2 was release just over a year ago in January with a sequel planned to hit this holiday season, alongside a new massive RPG – Skyrim, hitting shelves in November.  That is some good news for those of you who don’t have massive amounts of game time.  You will still have something to keep you busy until we finally see the final chapter of the Mass Effect trilogy.  Now, as bummed out as I am regarding the delay of Mass Effect 3, I know that BioWare has good reasons for taking some extra time.  They want to make it absolutely perfect.  I am all for that.
