FUNimation Entertainment announced yesterday that they will be streaming their official English subtitled version of Toriko, a new action/adventure anime series for teen audiences. Based on Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro’s popular manga published in Weekly Shonen Jump, episodes of this series will be available weekly on Hulu and FUNimation.com/video. Toriko is a “legendary gastronomic hero chasing rare ingredients across the world to realize his dream: completing the ultimate full-course menu”.
In addition to their new series announcement, beta.funimation.com is now in its open beta period. According to their site, there are “a lot of new bells and whistles” for us to check out as well as a new acquisition and simulcast announcement.
The beta site is pretty sweet and very user friendly. You can watch hundreds of shows, trailers, clips, and movies using their easy navigation options. Browse by show, language, genre, sub-genre, rating, or any combination of the five. The community page was pretty awesome too, head over and check it out.
They also included this “sweet intro video just for the site”. It is… interesting to say the least.
