Doctor Who Series 6: Premiere Date, American Airing, and More!

Doctor Who fans, rejoice! The BBC as well as BBC America have released the air date for the premiere of series six — and both premiere dates happen to fall on the same day! All signs seem to indicate that the BBC and its American counter-part have decided to begin airing each episode of the series in America on the same day that it airs in the UK. This move signals a major turn from the show’s previous broadcast schedule, which saw Americans receiving new episodes of the popular sci-fi show weeks later than the original British air date.

The series premiere of Doctor Who’s sixth series will hit the air on April 23rd!

More exciting news for Americans: the two-part series premiere will take place in America. We’ve got the details:

The Doctor (Matt Smith), and his companions Amy (Karen Gillan) and Rory (Arthur Darvill), find themselves on a secret summons that takes them on an adventure from the desert in Utah — right to the Oval Office in 1969.

Be sure to tune in to the series premiere on April 23rd at 9pm ET — only on BBC America!
