Video Game Releases – March

Another month, another handful of awesome games.  Let’s take a look of what March has in store for us!

Rift, developed by Trion Worlds, is probably one of the more anticipated releases coming out in March.  Rift is an MMORPG set in the fantasy world of Telara, which is the focal point of different planes (worlds). These worlds have now invaded Telara, causing rifts to open. These rifts begin to spawn monsters which proceed to march towards important points on the map. It is then up to players to defeat these monsters and to close the rift. If rifts are left unchecked, the invading monsters will eventually conquer large portions of the map, killing and significantly impairing the players in that area. Players do not have to be in a group to be able to join a rift and are rewarded for many things including healing, attacking and buffing. The severity and locations of the rifts are entirely dynamic. Rifts of six different types (earth, fire, air, water, life, and death) are possible, and rifts of different types will oppose each other.

If you are into MMORPG’s this is definitely one to check out.  There are many ways to customize your characters which should bring many, many long hours of fun game play for you!  Rift will hit shelves on March 1st.

Pokémon Black and White feature gameplay similar to previous installments of the series, while introducing a number of changes to the core gameplay. The player follows the journey of a Pokémon trainer through the region of Unova, as they train Pokémon used to compete against other trainers. The ultimate goal is to become the Champion of the region, by defeating a group of top trainers known as the Elite Four. Black and White introduce 156 brand new Pokémon to the franchise, bringing the total number of Pokémon to 649. The Pokédex, an in-game index of all Pokémon species, can be completed by obtaining all 649 Pokémon. Both titles are independent of each other, but feature largely the same plot. While both Black and White can be played separately, trading Pokémon between both of the games is required in order to complete the Pokédex.

Pokémon Black and White will be ready for you to take home on March 6th. Also, remember if you are wanting try this one out, make sure you grab it early so you can take advantage of the free rare Pokemon Victini!

In Crysis 2, the aliens have returned with a full invasion force bent on nothing less than the total annihilation of mankind. In New York, terrifying alien invaders stalk the streets and a nightmare plague strikes down the city’s myriad inhabitants with brutal epidemic speed. The city’s systems are in chaos, its streets and skyline are smashed and in flaming ruin. Neither paramilitary law enforcement nor the might of the US military machine can stand against the invaders, and all who choose not to flee are dead men walking. Just to survive in this maelstrom of death will require technology beyond anything any modern soldier has ever seen. One man will inherit that means to survive. You alone must wield the combat technology of Nanosuit 2, and make the last stand to save humanity from destruction in the urban jungle that is New York City.

Check this one out on March 25th!

The Crogenitors were a race of unrivaled scientists and had built a large galactic empire. They had mastered mutation and used their knowledge to create an army of genetic heroes, that became known as “Living Weapons”. But the discovery by Crogenitor Zelem of the E-DNA, an experimental amino acid that bonds to DNA, changed everything: it can be used to weaponise life itself, and it can achieve millennia of evolution in hours. However the E-DNA grown was unstable and all of the subjects who come in contact with it were taken over by it, completely becoming a genetic nightmare and connecting with a hive mind know as “The Darkspore”. The E-DNA rapidly turned into a virus that began to spread in laboratories, all over the galaxy, killing everything in sight. The end result was war.

Darkspore is scheduled to hit shelves on March 29th!
