Bulletstorm (PS3, Xbox 360)
Bulletstorm brings new furor to first-person shooter action thanks to its signature ‘kill with skill’ gameplay. In his unique FPS game you take on the role of Grayson Hunt and battle off the bad guys after being betrayed by his commader and exiled to the far ends of the galaxy.
Bulletstorm is unique in the fact that the game rewards you points for how creatively you destroy your enemies. The more insane the skill shot, the more points you get. The more points you get, the more weapons you unlock and the more exaggerated your kills can become! Add this game to your collection on February 22nd.
Killzone 3 (PS3)
The game picks up immediately after the ending of Killzone 2 and follows the previous games’ main protagonist, Sev, a Special Forces operative fighting for the Interplanetary Strategic Alliance against the Helghast Empire. The game continues shortly after Sev successfully defeated Radec and Rico having killed Visari, the Helghast dictator who leaves them to a fleet of Helghast ships approaching them destroying ISA vessels.
The gameplay will strongly resemble that of Killzone 2 albeit with several tweaks and changes. Similar to the first Killzone, the game will take place in various harsh environments such as Arctic landscapes, a lethal alien jungle, nuclear wastelands as well as space battles rather than only the city-scape environments which were present in Killzone 2. Another notable new feature is the ability to use jet packs in the game, which were also used in Killzone: Liberation, however, these new jet packs will be used in a different manner than that of those in Killzone: Liberation. Killzone 3 is set to release February 22nd.
Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation (Nintendo DS)
Dragon Quest VI is a traditional, turn-based RPG (in an overhead perspective) which features random battles and a character class system that the Hero and his party members acquire new skills and spells. The Hero travels around the world gathering a party throughout his adventure. To progress in the story, the party must defeat specific boss monsters or trigger specific flags. In order to defeat the bosses, the player must spend time training the party by gaining experience points from battles to advance in character and class levels.
Other new features were added to the series, such as the monsters being animated when they attack. The Slime Arena and Best Dresser Contest were new mini-games introduced; the casinos return from previous Dragon Quest games. Like previous games, small medals can be found hidden throughout the worlds and can be traded for items. There are bonus dungeons and a few extra characters after beating the main storyline. Pick this game up on February 14th!
