Welcome to Lytherus

Welcome to Lytherus, your new hub for everything science fiction, fantasy, and horror. Yes, we mean everything. We are geeks and consumers of all walks of life who enjoy reading, reviewing, discussing, and theorizing. Books? We read ‘em. Video games? Hardcore gamers. Movies? Been watching since we were born! Zombies? RUN!

Lytherus was founded as a response to the lack of quality scifi/fantasy/horror blogs on the ‘net catering to true fans of the wildly popular cult genres. While multiple brilliant web destinations cater to specific genres and fringe content, no blog or news resource has truly managed to package it all together into an enjoyable, fun-to-read experience. We’re here to fill that void.

Lytherus aims to provide news, reviews, editorials, and guest contributions ranging from the familiar to the bizarre. Our dedicated staff of fans, consumers, industry insiders, and true “geeks” will discuss any topic that appeals to us and our visitors. We will also frequently feature articles written by guest contributors from the various industries, including (but never limited to) authors, editors, screenplay writers, directors, game developers, viral marketers, industry “insiders”, and more. You’ll soon learn to expect the unexpected from Lytherus, and it’s exactly that which puts us above and beyond those other guys.

We have a fantastic staff of contributors ranging from consumers to authors to industry veterans, all passionate about bringing news, reviews, and information to our visitors on a regular basis. Our fantastic staff includes:

  • Mike Macauley: founder of Shurtugal.com and author of The Inheritance Almanac
  • Lauren Zurchin: book enthusiast and up-and-coming author
  • Jackie Krah: comic book extraordinaire
  • Shaun Hilton: video game, movie, and TV wiz
  • Bryce Hilton: life-long gamer and anime/manga mastermind
  • Eldon Thompson: author of the acclaimed The Legend of Asahiel book series
  • Nick Braccia: host of the Transmedia Talk podcast and viral marketing campaign master
  • Kaleb Nation: Youtube personality, author of the Bran Hambric book series

We will be adding several new contributors to our team over the next few weeks!

Our staff are already hard at work reviewing and recommending dozens of titles for the website, in addition to composing columns, editorials, and crawling the web for the latest breaking news. You can expect instant coverage of your favorite titles, genres, and content types starting today!

Most important to us are our visitors. We want to know what you think! Please feel free to leave your feedback, suggestions, and questions in the comments below. If you’d prefer a more private way to contact us, please feel free to do so using the contact form!

So what are you waiting for? Plug in to the Lytherus machine and begin consuming, chief!

      Glad to hear it!

    The site looks great.

One question – How are you going to decide what to cover in each genre?
I guess another question – Are you going to pick out the most popular of each or try to cover everything?

Anyway the site will be one I’ll check out quite often

We cover what appeals to us and any tips that our visitors send in to us. We will be paying very close attention to what our visitors enjoy to make sure we’re covering the right content — popular and obscure.

We’re going to try to cover everything.

When is the 4th Inheritance series Book coming out?

        • Anonymous

Just watch Shurtugal.com for specific updates on the Inheritance cycle. That’s probably the best spot besides Alagaesia.com, and since it is Mike’s original site, its just as good (or better) than lytherus.

As a SciFi/Fantasy addict I’m excited about this site. Very few (that is if any) websites provide up-and-coming, as well as need-to-know info reguarding the science fiction/fantasy fiction genre. Thanks for creating…and I know I will checking in quite frenquently! Atra du evarinya ono varda!
